November Photo of the Month by Jess Judy:
This beautiful shot was taken by Jess Judy of Luray, neighbor to the White House Farm Foundation. The early morning light bathes the White House, setting the autumn leaves ablaze. (This photo was chosen by Farmers & Merchants Bank for the cover of their 2013 calender!)
October Photo of the Month by Barb Stewart:
Virgin’s Bower (Clematis virginiana) is a native Virginia vine. It is in the buttercup family and typically grows along stream sides and open thickets. It has showy white flowers which turn into these fairy-like seed heads in the autumn. An aggressive grower, it can climb over vertical supports be they a small sapling or a trellis in your yard. The flowers are favored by bees and butterflies for their pollen.

Joining the party on the Cirsium vulgare are a monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), a bumble bee (Bombus vagans) and a hover fly in the Syrphidae family (species unknown).
