We are fortunate to have wonderful soil in our 2400 square foot garden. Located in the flood plain of the Shenandoah River (but far enough away to be safe) the soil is rich, crumbly, full of earthworms and even smells good! This will be the third garden we have had a garden at the farm (second year in its present location).
We choose to grow our produce without the use of chemical herbicides and pesticides, focusing instead on taking care of the soil in order to grow the healthiest, most vibrant plants which are naturally more capable of fighting off insects and disease.
Check back as we will be posting updates on what we are doing, what we are learning and what is growing!
